Wondering where the name 3Bird came from? Or who? or why?

Well you're in for a wild ride! Ok... not really, but we think its a fun story.

We are best friends, travel buddies, coffee addicts, parents, husband & wife, Brandon & Rach. We started on this particular journey while Rach was searching for something she could really sink her teeth into, something she could truly feel passionate about outside of her first love, Motherhood. Originally we had something kid related in mind, as tying a new passion to her current one seemed like the natural choice, but while cruisin' the interweb for ideas one fateful night, we stumbled across some leatherwork. 

An interest was sparked, a cheap amazon start kit & some random leather was ordered, & you could say the rest is history... except not really. It took several failed projects, more youtube videos than we'd like to admit, & a little boost of confidence from a friend or two to really sink the idea home. The more we did it, the more we fell in love with leather crafting.

Why 3Bird? This ones pretty straight forward. We have 3 lovely, chirpy children, who we often refer to as little birds. Yeah, pretty simple eh? 

But wait, there's more!

Those 3 little birds inspired us to do more than just start up a small business. We strive for sustainability in every move, so to keep our environment impact to a minimum. Our kids should grow up with the same beautiful, blue-skied backyard that we did and we want to do our part to make that a reality.

We buy up "remnant" leather from suppliers. This leather is random off-cuts & pieces from larger leather orders that would otherwise go to the landfill. It also adds a uniqueness to our pieces and designs, as we are constantly challenged to incorporate as much remnant leather as possible in our pieces. 

Our packaging is eco-friendly too! Our mailers are 100% compostable, our boxes are recycled cardboard, & our product packaging is recyclable as well!
